This year, our month long challenge over the course of January will bring you
not one, not three, but FOUR new pieces of harp music, through daily short
teaching videos and access to the sheet music each day as we learn the next
section.
The pieces of music have been generously donated by Wendy Stewart, Ben
Creighton Griffiths and Mary Dunsford, the last of whom is also our tutor on
the videos! With thanks to Jon Borgia of Signal Film and Media for the film
production.
Join us on any one of our starting days to start a new piece with us!
Piece 1 starts on January 1st. A short piece by Mary to get us fired up.
Piece 2 starts on January 7th. Wendy's gorgeous arrangement - we can't wait...
Piece 3 starts on January 17th. Another little ditty from Mary.
Piece 4 starts on January 22nd. A funky offering from Ben to round off our month!
TIP 1: These videos are designed to be watched with you at the harp, with your sheet music printed out. They have been made so that hopefully you won’t need to stop and start the video, just follow along as it goes through.
TIP 2: If you are a confident, quick learner, watch the Teaching Video, and maybe the first minute or so of the Playalong and Support Video.
TIP 3: If you prefer to learn at a steadier rate, or if you consider yourself more of a beginner player, DON’T watch the Teaching Video, JUST WATCH the Playalong and Support video instead. This one starts with playing the extract through a different speeds, but then teaches it all at a slow and steady pace.
TIP 4: The Playalong parts start with full speed, then a little slower, then slower still. Why not listen to the first, (following the music), play one hand with the little slower speed, then try two hands with the slower still...
