at Stormont Hall, Gretna DG16 5EA (opposite the Old Blacksmith's Shop)
Scottish and some Manx tunes from Wendy Stewart; Cumbrian tunes from Mary Dunsford to play and share.

Ever fancied learning the harp, or know someone who does? Want to try one but don't know where to start? This was the workshop for you! No previous music experience needed as our experienced tutor guided you through the delights of playing the harp. (Next workshop planned for October 2018.)
The presence of live music in a healthcare setting acts as a window to the outside world! A clinical space transforms into a cultural one, and the live music provides a human contact that reaches out to the wellness within someone. This session examined the complexities,
considerations and joys of working with your harp in a healthcare setting. A great eye-opener for anyone interested in doing work in this area.
Whether guarding the queen of Poland dur ing the Cossack war , running away from a cruel master whose relatives sought revenge for his execution, fleeing the Inquisition from Italy to Poland or escaping with the king from Poland to France, the Poles found time to write some of the best lute music of the Renaissance, including the first Sarabande in France.

Another fabulous weekend of harping, organised by HNW. Great tutors, great variety of topics, great company - something for everyone!
A super drop-in morning where folks got to try the harp in a completely informal setting! Some stayed for five minutes, some stayed for an hour, and some did a spot of birdwatching while they were there!
A fantastic opportunity, which really got our creative juices flowing, under the exciting tutelage of Ben, with his stunning blue harp!
Our Christmas Concert Party this year featured the World Premiere of our Composer in Residence piece, The Lay of the Land. The marvellous Karen Marshalsay won our hearts with this special piece!
