Sunday 12th May 2019, 10am for 10.30am start at Shap Memorial Hall.  Mary Dunsford will be taking the session on introduction to Chords & Keys as a basis for the Shelley Fairplay workshop session which is being held in October.

A joint playing session for members of Harps North West and the Dumfries and Galloway branch of the Clarsach Society on

Scottish and some Manx tunes from Wendy Stewart; Cumbrian tunes from Mary Dunsford to play and share.

Sunday 25th February AM - Harp in Healthcare - Mary Dunsford


The presence of live music in a healthcare setting acts as a window to the outside world! A clinical space transforms into a cultural one, and the live music provides a human contact that reaches out to the wellness within someone. This session examined the complexities,

considerations and joys of working with your harp in a healthcare setting. A great eye-opener for anyone interested in doing work in this area.


Sunday 25th February PM - Polish Lute Music arranged for lever harp - Jean Altshuler


Whether guarding the queen of Poland dur ing the Cossack war , running away from a cruel master whose relatives sought revenge for his execution, fleeing the Inquisition from Italy to Poland or escaping with the king from Poland to France, the Poles found time to write some of the best lute music of the Renaissance, including the first Sarabande in France.


JaNEWary Challenge 2018 - Learn new music in the new year!

Another fabulous weekend of harping, organised by HNW.  Great tutors, great variety of topics, great company - something for everyone!


Saturday 17th June, 2017 - Music For All - Learn to Play Day!


A super drop-in morning where folks got to try the harp in a completely informal setting!   Some stayed for five minutes, some stayed for an hour, and some did a spot of birdwatching while they were there!


Saturday 22nd April 2017 - Jazz Improv Workshop - Ben Creighton-Griffiths

A fantastic opportunity, which really got our creative juices flowing, under the exciting tutelage of Ben, with his stunning blue harp!


Sunday 11th December 2016 - World Premiere: The Lay of the Land

Our Christmas Concert Party this year featured the World Premiere of our Composer in Residence piece, The Lay of the Land.  The marvellous Karen Marshalsay won our hearts with this special piece!
